Thank you to everyone involved
On Friday 20 March, Frack-Free York held a benefit gig to help us raise money to combat fracking. The evening was a great success and we would like to thank everyone involved:
- Thank you to all our performers for donating your time and your talent to provide us all with excellent entertainment
- Thank you to everyone who helped with organising and publicising the event
- Thank you to the Fulford Arms for having us
- And a big thank you to everyone who attended.
Results of the limerick competition
The limerick competition proved to be one of the most popular events of the evening, with lots of great limericks being entered. You can listen to all the limericks at the following link: https://clyp.it/1tyhjca5
The runner-up in our fracking competition was Nelly, with her first limerick:
There once was a mad tale of fracking,
Which had each old Etonian’s backing.
“But enough was enough,”
Said the people of stuff.
“Come May, it is you we are sacking.”
-Nelly, Limerick Competition Runner Up
But winner of the evening was Dylan P, with the following entry:
There once were two lads, conservative,
Who thought fossil fuels superlative.
Cameron demanded to frack
Osbourne’s shale crack.
Come on man, lets find an alternative.
-Dylan P , Limerick Competition Winner
