Frack Free York meets with Labour councillors to discuss fracking

On 2 August, Kit Bennett, Chair of Frack Free York, met the Labour Party Group on City of York Council. At the meeting, the councillors listened to him explain a number of key risks associated with unconventional gas extraction and the fossil fuel industry including air pollution, water pollution and more climate change.

He asked them to speak out against unconventional gas, support a Joint Minerals and Waste plan that provides protection from the harmful effects of the unconventional gas industry and to work towards a national ban on unconventional gas development.
