Frack Free York meet on the third Thursday of each month, normally at the Ye Olde Starre Inn on Stonegate, York.
It’s an accessible venue, and all are welcome.
Our next meeting will be on Thursday 20th April. Chatter from 7pm and then the meeting proper from 7.30.

Global Justice Now Protest Against Barclays Bank

HAWAF Monthly Meeting with Film Screening

Haxby and Wiggington Against Fracking are holding their monthly meeting on Wednesday 3 May. The meeting will include a screening of the film, “Living with Fracking,” which was made by a Ryedale couple who visited the gas fields of Pennsylvania. There will also be a Q&A session with the film makers.
Tales From the Frontline

Tales from the Frontline is an evening of storytelling from Alice Courvoisier, JY Saville and Cath Heneimeyer, including, folktales, myths and testimonies from places on the frontline of struggle against fossil fuel industries in Canada, Australia and Yorkshire. There will also be music by The Barbarellas. Tickets are available from Eventbrite and you can also sign up to the event on Facebook. All profits from the evening go to Frack Free York.
Reclaim The Power Direct Action Training

Reclaim The Power are holding a weekend of direct action training in hebden Bridge between 12 May and 14 May. They are looking for groups of two to three people from the same area to take part in the training. If you are interested in taking part, please find a buddy to do the training with you before going to the reclaim the power website to download the application form for this event. An Evening With Wenonah Hauter

Friends of the Earth will be hosting American activist Wenonah Hauter. The Director of Food and Water Watch is a tireless campaigner against fracking in America and wrote Frackopoly, a book about the harm caused by fracking and the campaign to stop it. Note the previous date for this event has been cancelled because it was the date of the general election. Friends of the Earth are now seeking to book an alternative date for this event. We will update this page when we have more information.
